We are seeking a Manager, Audio to focus on development and production of Hartbeat’s radio and podcast slate. The ideal candidate is passionate about comedic entertainment, well-versed in technical audio production in a variety of formats and is eager to take on a new challenge that is equal parts creative and operational. Hartbeat’s manager will be charged with helping to develop and on-board our exciting new slate of comedy podcasts. You’ll work with our audio team to help take our shows from concept to launch. The right candidate is extremely organized and looking for an opportunity to grow with our unit. You understand the challenges that pop up in a normal podcast production and are creative with solutions.


  • Contribute to the development, production, and optimization of an expanding slate of podcasts, radio programming (LOL Radio) and audiobooks
  • Act as development producer for new concepts
  • Develop production processes and systems for new shows
  • Look for opportunities to innovate show production
  • Help on board and train junior staff
  • Supervise show production across a growing roster of shows and teams
  • Manage a small team of producers and engineers
  • Partner closely with internal and external analytics teams to track and optimize performance of audio initiatives
  • Work internally across departments to use audio to better serve our brand partners and content groups
  • Manage audio production vendors, partners, and staff
  • Drive innovation in the audio category by leading experimentation and breaking new ground in the space


  • At least 3 years of experience dedicated to podcasting at the producer level
  • Experience managing podcast professionals
  • Proficient in audio production including use of Pro Tools, Dissect, and/or Adobe Audition
  • Strong writing skills with an understanding of writing for radio
  • Skilled at talent management
  • Confident producing show deliverables including calendars, interview prep, host research docs, production plans,
  • Passionate about the comedic entertainment and podcast spaces with a keen eye for quality content
  • Ability to work across creative & technical aspects of audio
  • Proven track record of building talent relationships
  • Self-starter who has the ability to work independently, but also fits in a strong team environment
  • Finds the laughter in everyday life and wants to keep the world laughing together!
